We're April and Austin, the husband and wife team behind the cameras of Massei Photography. We provide lifestyle and portrait photography in the Richmond metro area, as well as our own studio located in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Both of us were born and raised in Mechanicsville, VA, right outside of Richmond. We have been married for 14 years but together for a total of 19 years. Together we were blessed with two very precious kiddos, a daughter, Aria, and a son, Ashton. Anyone can tell you that the two of us together are probably one of the most relaxed, laid back and down to earth couples they know. Being together and doing things as a family is very, very important to us. We always try to make sure our kids know that and believe in that! Photography is our passion and we absolutely love that we are able to share it with one another.

Meet the Team
We are very passionate about our faith in God. We know that he is always leading us in the right direction. Looking back on our lives, we both see where God guided us on our journey. Whether making life changing decisions like going all in on photography and separating from the coast guard or moving back home, we trust God is leading us!

We love, love, love our coffee, red wine, and Netflix nights. As soon as the kids get in bed, we love to grab a glass of wine, our "hidden snacks" lol and sit down on the couch to watch one of our many favorite shows!

As passionate as we are about photography, we both have separate passions! Austin is a Black Belt In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been training for 15 years! Before moving back to Richmond he Co-owned an academy in Virginia Beach and sold it before moving! As for April, her first love has always been dance! She has been dancing since she was 4 and has been teaching dance the past 17 years! As we traveled around the country, she had the opportunity to teach at different dance studios and now teaches at her home studio in Mechanicsville, VA!
a surprising fact about april and austin...
Austin served the coast guard, for 12.5 years! We feel so blessed for everything the Coast Guard gave us, including the opportunity to live in multiple states and meet many amazing friends all over the country! However, we are happy to be back home with our friends and family in Richmond, VA!
